I thought I would try something new here. I was day dreaming on my way to the office this morning and I thought of something that would be a really nice addition to World of Warcraft. It also made me wonder what other people would think. Thus a new blog post is born.
The Question
What addition would you like to see to the World of Warcraft interface?
Let me clarify this a little. I am talking about passive type changes, not Class/Item or Content changes.
My Answer
I would like to see a way of managing Alt’s so that everyone knew who you were. Basically you Set a character as your Main, and much like an Arena Team, you invite your Alts. Your alts then obviously need to accept the invitation. You would then be able to choose to have this information available to Guild and/or Public. There would also be the ability to Promote a new Main character.
What are your thoughts?

Oh, good idea and good question! I will think of an idea for myself, however I see a real problem with your idea sorry.
You yourself would need a 26" widescreen monitor, and the ability to have it on its side, so that you could list all YOUR alts in the one vertical list. :P
A simple display would be enough.
ie:
Razorbaxftw [Main]
Razorbark [Alt of Razorbaxftw]
It could be displayed on the Inspect pane.
Many folks in my guild use the addon identity to let folks know who their main is while they're playing an alt. When you log into each alt, you set up your main so that when your character speaks in different channels, it looks like this:
Altname: (Mainname) Hey guys.
Makes it much easier to keep track of who is who, as we all have lots of alts! Our GM also puts notes with our characters about whose alts they are, so again, very easy to tell from the guild interface. This would make the info available as far as your guild is concerned, but wouldn't offer the info to the public.

I'd like to see a tool for scheduling groups (both in guild and across agreed guild alliances), similar to GEM as part of the WoW interface.
I find it quite bizarre that grouping with 9 / 24 other players is a major part of the end-game, but that there are no in game tools available to easily schedule this time. Instead players have to resort to 3rd party addons such as GEM, or out of games solutions on their guild websites.
