When TBC was first released, everyone was excited at the new content and abilities that were made available. Within the Red Dragons you could break down the members into several categories of how they approached the new Expansion.
Dingers.
We had around ten members that would fit into this category. They wanted to be the first ones to achieve level 70. This title ended up going to a Druid in the guild called Ahoy.
Wanna be Dingers.
I would say we had around twenty members in this group. These are the people that would like to be in the “Dingers” category but have RL commitments that get in the way. This is where I fitted in. I think I was the 19th person in guild to ding 70.
Explorers.
This would be the general category that most of my guild fitted into. They just plodded along and enjoyed the new zones and content.
Re-Rollers.
This would have to be the smallest group, but they are the ones that decided to re-roll to take advantage of a new Class or Race.
Solo or Group?
I also believe that within all these categories, there are people that are either solo or group players. The Solo Players are self sufficient, either in their class type or personality. In other words, if they can get in a group, great, if they can’t they will just tinker around looking for other people to help them. Of the Group Players, there are again two types that I can see. Firstly there is the helper, I would consider this to be specced to heal or support. This type of player really cannot do anything by themselves but really enhance the group.
Klingon.
Finally we come down to the reason I started writing this article. No I am not talking about Star Trek. This person simply cannot do anything for themselves. This is the person that asks for help all the time. Can someone run me through this? Can someone help me with this? Where do I find such and such?
I’m coming back to play WOW!
I was talking to a friend this morning, he is one of my best friends. He had stopped playing for quite some time and has decided to take up the game again. On one side I think this is fantastic. He is a great guy and fun to be around. But then I remember when he was on. He was a Klingon. He would always ask for help. He just could not manage to play for himself.
WTB Time.
This is what it all comes down too. I just don’t have enough time to do everything I want to do. I need to farm for my Tailoring. Save gold for Raiding. I need to do heroics for my Badges. I want to level my three Shammies. I want to master (or at least be competent) with Multi-boxing my Druids. I want to Multi-box them in an Instance. I want to PVP with my Resto Druid, BG’s, 2v2 and 5v5.
