Tips when Transferring Realms

When I decided to transfer realms, I did not really put a lot of though into the process, beyond "What Toon?" and "When?". As I mentioned I had decided to transfer my two Druids. I transferred Razorbax first, then yesterday I transferred my Tank, FTW.

Economy of a Server.

As it turns out, Nagrand recently had all it's top guilds take up the PVP Realm Transfer. As a result, most high end matt's and patterns are still very expensive. Heart's of Darkness, which sell for around 250 to 300 G on Medivh are selling for 1000g on Nagrand.

Investigations.

I think the best way to handle this would be using Auctioneer. Here is how it goes. Create a character on the new server and make your way to a major city. Run at least one full scan. If you really want to do it properly, I would say run two per day for a week. Once you have done this, you can take the Save Variables file from the WTF folder and move it to the account on your old server. Then you can start looking for items. Since you have the "Expensive" AH Scan in memory, anything that comes up cheap will be a great deal. Now obviously you need some serious money to really clean up, but most people can gather a thousand or two in gold from dailies and depending on how "New" your new server is, you could easily double or triple you funds.

New Server to Old Server?

It actually works both ways, but you wont make as much. In this situation you sell all of your items that come up as expensive. Even ones you need for trade skills, since you will be able to buy them back at a cheaper price.

Now this is all great advice. Of course its easy to give advice when you miss the boat entirely. I thought of all of this AFTER my transfer. But it's not too late. I still have my 3 box team on Medivh and a Level 40 Rogue that I can transfer. What I hope to do now is earn some cash on the Boxers and then buy up some goods and Transfer my rogue. Now you might think that this is a bit of a waste, paying $25 to transfer a Toon to make more gold, but hey, at least its legal and I realllllllllly hate farming;).

Didn't work. I hate it. It opens up my viewing area but I just can't find anything anymore so I will go back to my original and play with it a bit;).
