I am in a guild called the Red Dragons. We call ourselves a Family Guild that Raids. Recently we had a little bit of drama and lost some members. When you actually looked at who we lost and how the effected our raiding, it was minimal. I think we lost around 5 raiders. Now before this we would have 30 people sign up for Gruul. After this we were lucky to field a Kara group. The math just didn’t add up. I now know this to be a morale issue. Anyway, as time goes by we build back up again. We are getting 2 full Kara groups again and generally full clearing each night.
The weekend before last, we decided to try scheduling a Gruul/Mag double header and see what happened. Low and behold we had close to 30 people ready to roll. We downed HK and Gruul with ease. We then header for Mag.
Now for those that have not seen Mag, it can be a rather technical fight, but once you get it down it is just a tank and spank. The Key is in clicking the Orbs. The orbs will prevent Mag from casting a Fire Nova which will destroy the raid. Our initial issue was in timing, we were clicking early. We finally got the hang of it and I think we got Mag down to the 20% mark before we called it for the night.
Last Weekend, (This weekend for all you Americans), we hit the double header again. HK and Grull dropped with ease. Gruul died on 10 growths which was a record for us. We headed of to Mag. We had a few really close calls where we made a couple of silly mistakes but in the end we did succeed.
The following day we formed two groups for Kara. My group had a new Prot Pally in it as well as his brother a shadow priest. We did a full clear in less than four hours.
That was the first run I had done with a Prot Pally and it was a lot different to our usual Warrior/Druid team. The Trash truly became trash. Due to Silences and Fears, I MT'd Maiden and Nightbane.
All in all it was a great weekend of progression.
Now to PVP. I have been doing lots of BG's to build up my honour to have some reasonably good gear to arena with. I now have 2 pieces and I hope to get another 2 this week. We did our weekly 10 matches and had a really good start but our last few fights were against some experienced teams so we ended up at 5 wins 5 losses.
Tono found a great article on the hunter forums. It’s worth a read.
