One of my best friends in-game is a Prot Warrior. He is not just any Prot warrior, he is THE Prot Warrior. He knows anything and everything there is to know about Prot Warriors. He also knows what he wants changed for Warriors to be "Viable". Zej is our MT and I am the OT. We often debate the various abilities of each tank class. This is how I see each one.
Prot Warrior:
The Out of the Box Main Tank.
Pro's:
- Block
- Parry
- Magic Mitigation
- Oh Shit Buttons
- Fear Breaker
Con's:
- Low DPS
Feral Druid:
The Sponge or Damage Soaker
- High Health
- High Armor
- High Dodge
- High (for a tank) DPS
- Fear Resistant
Con's
- No Spell Mitigation
- No Oh Shit Buttons
Prot Pally:
AOE Tankage
Pro's
- AOE Tank
- Oh Shit Buttons
Con's
- Poor Single Target Threat
Ok, so I do not know much about Prot Pallies. Now I think most of this balances out really well. It does seem that Prot Pallies now have as much or more health that we do though.
Recently Zej decided to build up a Stam set of Tanking gear. There goes my Health Advantage. I don't really know but I think we need a little more health that what we currently have.
One thing I am still torn with is my enchants/patches for my Boots and Gloves. Currently I have Agi on both but not sure if I should change them over to Stam or not.
I have rambled on enough.
