I was reading over my previous post and I was just dumb founded. The post read as nothing like what I had in my head and it even made me wince just a little. But let’s but that behind us.
After having a look at the post by http://teethandclaws.blogspot.com/ about a new blogger, http://ramblingbear.blogspot.com/ which btw i quite liked, I decided to do a little history post myself.
My good friend and house mate was playing World of Warcraft right from Beta. He kept telling me how great it was and trying to get me to play as well. I just was not interested. MMO's, BAH, I'll stick with the FPS's. So release day comes along. Michael, who was my house mate at the time, buys a copy of wow and installs it. I go over and have a look and I get curious. I ended up grabbing his install disks and activating the "Trial Account". The next day I purchased my own copy of WOW. This was actually a rather amusing ripple effect. I then showed another friend, he was in. He showed 2 other friends and they were in. So we were 5. I started out with a Rogue. Played to about level 20 and then swapped to a Warlock. I played that to about 15 and I changed to a Warrior. I think I made it to level 14 when I gave in. The next choice was a Druid. Welcome Razorbax.
Finally I found a character that I connected with. Since this was my first serious leap into the game, I was of course a huge noob. But that’s to be expected, isn’t it? It was about this time that the five of us decided to create a guild. We decided on the Name, Valheru. We did the usual thing of paying people to sign the charter and off we went.
I leveled the entire way to 60 as a Balance Druid. Honestly it was just for the Hurricane Talent. I thought that would be amazing. As will generally happen when friends take up a new game, three of them lost intrest and moved on. So me and my housemate decided to join a Proper Guild.
We chatted about this between us for a while and decided on the "Red Dragons". We had run into them a lot and they all seemed helpful and friendly.
The Guild was more than I ever expected. I had found a whole community of friendly helpful people. Like all guilds there was the odd idiot or beggar or what not, but on the whole I got along with everyone. At this point I had Re-Specced to Resto, since it was the only viable level 60 build.....
At this moment, my RL jumped in. I was retrenched. I ended up playing WoW full time for around 6 months before I was forced back into the work force. In this time I moved up the Ranks of the Red Dragons, Becoming a Raid Leader and Class Leader for the Druids. I eventually joined the Officers. I am now a High Councillor which is the rank below Guild Master, but I digress.
We were raiding Molten Core. Due to my unemployment I was there for every raid and was relied upon as one the Primary Healers. I say this not to brag but to point out that I had to remain resto specced.
During the Week I would occasionally respec to Feral just to play around. I found I really enjoyed it and even build a Feral Kit which enabled me to tank most instances. At this point I decided to Roll a Second Druid.
I think it was because I rolled my first Druid as balance that I was able to stay motivated all the way to 60. By the time I had geared up through 5 mans etc, we had MC on Farm and were starting to bring alts in. This was just after the 1.6 patch.
Now our MT, who was also the head of the Raid Staff, absolutely hated the fact that Feral Druids could Tank. From his point of View, Warriors were the tanks. The Only Tanks. I used to have to fight tooth and claw just to tank an ad in a fight. The effort I went through to play the way I wanted to was just staggering. Eventually my perseverance and the fact that all our tanks were playing on Alts, I finally started to get my chance. Once I had proved myself (Druids) to be a capable Tank, I started to get to tank more and more. Eventually I ended up being the 2nd tank in most of the MC runs we did.
Around about this time, even though I was tease remorselessly for having 2 druids, I decided to complete the set with a Balance Druid. I managed to get up to the low level 20's before I was bored to tears. Fate stepped in at this point and a friend of mine decided to stop playing WoW. I jokingly asked if I could have his account and he said Yes. (Shhh, don’t tell Blizzard).
I now had my 3 Druids.
During this time I still played the Resto Druid as my Main. We had some reasonable success in BWL but nothing out of the norm. Then along comes BC.
I had already decided that my Feral was going to be Main in BC so it was my first toon to 70. I think I was the 17th person in the guild to hit 70. Oh and I had a job again now so I did not focus on Warcraft as much as I had;). After Gearing up through all the 5mans, both Normal and Heroic, we started to play in Karazan.
At this point I dual-boxed, we sort off, my two other druids to 70. Basically I had my Resto on follow with my Balance and Vice Versa.
Well that’s my little tale of three druid noobs.
