I have decided to write a guide based on both my experience and research for boosting your characters.
What is Boosting?
Boosting is a new term that is used to describe what was originally called Power Levelling. Power Levelling has been given a bit of a bad name from the paid services. Boosting is the term used to describe the process of levelling a character as rapidly as possible with the least amount of play time, usually with the assistance of a high level character.
How do I Boost?
You will need access to a second account with a high level character on it. Basically you simply run your low level character through instances over and over again.
What Class is Best?
Hands down the best Class to Boost with is a Paladin Specced in the Protection Tree. Mages and Warlocks who are specced into their AOE spells are also a great choice. Beast Hunters and Feral Druids would be next in line. Warriors would come next with Shaman's and Priests and Rogues would come in last. The main goal here is AOE Damage and Survivability.
Where do I Boost?
Since I play Alliance, I will cover that side of things.
01 - 10 : Level Grind.
10 - 20 : Dead Mines.
20 - 40 : Scarlet Monastery.
40 - 45 : Zul'Farrak.
45 - 50 : Blackrock Depths.
50 - 55 : Scholomance.
55 - 60 : Hellfire Ramparts.
The higher level you achieve the harder it becomes to Boost. It is at the high 50's that your Class choice can be a real limiter. With Scarlet Monastery, you should start out in the grave yard and work up through the instances. Remember that XP earned is at its highest when you are of the appropriate level for the instance.
It is always better to have a full party so feel free to pick up some puggers to fill the gaps. You receive bonus XP based on the size of your party. Be warned, the Agro range on level 20's in SM is nasty. Make sure you zone in first and be ready to kill;).
Check out this link for the actual level requirements for each Instance.
Good Luck with your Boosting!
