Warrior abilities somewhat surfacing

Unlike Razor Im more realisitic that many abilities will not be live as it gets closer to a beta, but Ill review the new talents and abilities that are *proposed* for warriors


- Shield bash now deals damage equal to 20% of Attack Power

This gives us a nice addition to do for inturruption or a nice threat ability when everything else is on cooldown. It is not supposed to be about damage I will say, but the amount of damage it does now is not where it could be and this fixes it to actually scale, but not be overpowered.

- Thunder Clap's damage increases as you get more Attack Power. - Rend's Scaling with weapon damage has been improved.

It takes Blizzard so long to fix anything, I would have done this change years ago. I like seeing abilities now reflect a change when gear gets better. This will make TClap not quite as good as consecrate, but not as far behind as it is now.

- Sunder Armor's threat now scales with attack power. - Rend has had it's duration reduced. Total damage dealt is unchanged.

If this means that it also increases threat of Devastate as well since it is considered a sunder, I'm all for it, otherwise I would look into buffing Devastate in the same way to prevent that ability from being overshadowed by Sunder Armor.

- Challenging Shout cooldown reduced to 3 minutes.

Nice! This is a much needed improvement as 8 minutes makes it a little hazardous to use in any real situation. I would hope a talent makes it even shorter, but a 3 minute emergency taunt button really is nice.

- Revenge's tooltip has been clarified.

Well, its a fix, not a major change, but I wish that things like this were a part of bug fix notes, rather than "class change" notes.

- The bonus damage dealt by Cleave and Heroic Strike has been increased.

This could be very good depending on the amount of bonus damage that is gained, if we are talking about the same 17 damage that was given to us so many patches ago, Ill pass. However, if we are talking about a huge amount (say 100 or so) of bonus points of damage on either ability Ill be open to negotiations.

- There is now only one rank of the Overpower ability. Bonus damage removed.

Hmm....I can't say that I agree with this, it makes it scale less and it is already has limited use as it is. This could be a set up to a different change, which I hope may come soon. I understand some warriors have a lot of damage capacity, but this is a fairly minimal change that doesn't make much sense.

- Spell Reflection now costs 15 rage

A good change for the ability, it is very costly on live at the moment and makes it somewhat useless at this point. 15 rage is much more appropriate for the one use nature of the ability.

- The stun from Mace Specialization now has a 6 second cooldown.

I personally love this change. As it is in it's current conception it is ridiculously powerful for pvp and makes all the other specs trivial when you look at all three. Now it is more in tune with abilities like windfury. Now I know it will suck, but no more mace stun "skill" when it comes to pvp. Time to own up and admit that Mace Spec is OP as it is now.

- Improved Rend's name changed to Bloodletting, it now also affects the Bloodbath skill.

Nice, depending on what Bloodbath is, so no comment until I see that.

- Death Wish no longer grants fear immunity.

Again, a pvp change that weakens warriors against fear, but we didnt need that fear removal honestly and it did make us pretty hard to fear in pvp.

- Anticipation now increases your chance to dodge by 1% per point, instead of increasing your defense skill.

It sucks that we will have to get 20 more defense now, but 5% dodge is extremely nice. As it is right now, they would have to scale it like they did at the begining of TBC. Even taking all the the mitigation 20 defense give it would be .8% not crit, .8% not hit, .8% dodge, parry, and block. that is a grand total of 4% avoidance. Though, since we need to get that defense anyway, it means more mitigation in the long run

- Iron Will now reduces the duration of Stun and Charm effects on you by 10/20/30% instead of giving you a chance to resist these effects.

That's a different take on that effect, I think it's a good change and makes the talent pretty good for pvp.

- Improved Bloodrage now increases rage generated by 25/50%.

Huh, thats an odd one. Does that mean that it does the same rage gen as it does now, but increases rage generated by 50% while active? That is a interesting change if it is....

- Improved Shield Bash now also increases your Shield Slam damage by 5/10%.

Solid talent already with a new twist, I like the change and Shield Slam gaining a nice increase is always awesome.

- Improved Disarm now reduces the cooldown on your Disarm and Shield Break abilities by 5/10/15 seconds, and additionally will cause any targets you've disarmed to take 5/10/15% extra damage.

The disarm cooldown reduction is nice. I dont know what "Shield Break" is, so the cooldown reduction is kinda iffy until I can get more specifics for it. The last part is flat out awesome, if disarm would work on who you want it to work on.....

- The amount of charges on Sweeping Strikes has been reduced to 3.

Again, I see this as a pvp nerf, and one that is more of an "eh" thing, slower weapons are hurt by it, but I can see why it is overpowered with some of the new abilities.

- Poleaxe Specialization now also increases the damage your critical strikes with Polearms and Axes do by 1% per point in addition to it's old effect.

A nice change that brings not only the talent, but the effect in line with other talents and the equivalent weapon specs.

- Improved Revenge now increases the damage dealt by your Revenge ability by 8/16/25% in addition to it's old effect.

Thats a nice effect, but it would be better if Revenge also scaled with Attack Power, and that would make it a completly worthwhile talent.

- Concussion Blow now causes damage equal to 25% of your attack power and has had it's cooldown reduced to 30 seconds. In addition the damage caused by Concusion Blow generates high threat.

This one makes me scratch my head, It makes it closer to the original design of Concussion Blow, but now it deals threat and damage. It is more and less a trade off for more pve effectiveness for less pvp effectiveness.

- Last Stand's cooldown reduced to 2 minutes.

Awesome change, flat out. I love it already, now I can use it four times as much!

- Blood Craze now regenerates 2/4/6% of your health after being the victim of a critical strike.

Thats not bad, its better than it is now, and it scales better.


- Bloodthirst now recoverd 1.5% of your max health per hit. Bloodthirst now has only one rank.

Scaling healing from the ability is nice for the ability.

- Improved Disciplines (Rank 1) now reduces your cooldowns on Retaliation, Reckless and Shield by 5 minutes and increases their duration by 3 seconds.

Eh, no real comment really





Well, some promising changes to say the least...
